The article “Grand Mufti condemns attacks on non-Muslims” (Sep. 17) contains words of wisdom and true belief from the Grand Mufti. It is worth spreading this message worldwide and making it an international declaration that Islam is peace. Unfortunately, words to the contrary are often heard. Inspect private schools before allowing them to raise fees
I am writing with regard to the report “Private school fees up again” (Sep. 17). These private schools are violating various government regulations as well as educational norms and procedures, yet no action is taken and instead they are given even more liberty to exploit the situation and further burden parents by raising school fees. Most of these private schools are not fully equipped even with the basic needs and no one seems to be bothered to monitor them by inspecting their air conditioning systems, water facilities, toilets, etc. Samina Sultan, Online response
