I am writing with regard to the article "Kingdom aims to cut energy use by 30% in 17 yrs" (Sep. 11). When we see countries making an effort to reduce their carbon footprint and working for the environment, it is usually by implementation of awareness programs in offices and public schools. Children are the future of the country and when they realize the importance of conservation and reuse and recycling, they will implement these concepts when they become adults. They may also help remind the adults in their community about issues, such as food wastage, the economic use of ACs, and carpooling. UmmD, Online response
