Vice President of the Republic of India and President of the Senate Mohammed Hamid Al-Ansari received at his office here today Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, currently on a visit to India at the head of a delegation. During the meeting, the Indian Vice President noted the strong bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and India, which have developed and are growing after the historic visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the Republic of India in 2006, pushing their relations toward broader horizons to include many areas, especially economic and trade ones. For his part, the Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura conveyed to the Indian Vice President the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, stressing the Kingdom's keenness to strengthen and develop relations with India to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries and their peoples. Ways of supporting and strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields, and the development of parliamentary cooperation between the Kingdom's Majlis Al-Shura and the Indian Senate were also reviewed in the meeting.
