The Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh received here today Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Hamid Ali Rao. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, ways of enhancing them in various fields, especially parliamentary relations between Majlis Al-Shura and the Indian parliament, as well as activating the roles of two Saudi-Indian Parliamentary Friendship Committees to serve the interests of the two countries and their peoples. In a press statement after his meeting with the Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura, the Indian Ambassador described the visit to be paid by a delegation of Majlis Al-Shura headed by its Speaker to the Republic of India on Monday as important, considering it as a step in enhancing relations between the two countries and strengthening the links at legislative levels between Majlis Al-Shura and Parliament of India. Ambassador Rao noted that relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of India have received a very strong boost in various fields of cooperation since the historic visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the Republic of India in 2006 as well as a visit by the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2010. He emphasized that the mutual visits showed the willingness of the two leaderships to raise the levels of relations to partnerships in various fields.
