The Saudi Diabetes and Endocrine Association (SDEA) will hold on Thursday its First Symposium on 'Diabetes Chronic Complication' at Hotel Carlton Almoaibed. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Melhem explained that the costs of treating diabetes is due to complications affecting various organs of the body where diabetes is the leading cause of blindness, and chronic kidney failure and that the complications of heart disease is considered the primary cause of death to those patients. Meanwhile, Dr. Jaafar Alghllaf, coordinator of SDEA Scientific activities said the Symposium is accredited 7 CME from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). Lectures to be presented will deal with a number of topics, including kidney and eye injuries, sexual impotence, heart and foot injuries, microbial infections, nervous system and digestive-tract infections, as well as muscle and skin complications, he added. The conference is an extension of the SDEA activities to raise awareness among medical personnel in the care of diabetes.
