An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale shook the vicinity of the city of Sooza in Hormuzgan province, southern Iran, on Thursday, IRAN reported. The Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the tremor at 03:36 hours local time (0006 GMT). The earthquake was epicentered in an area located in 55.83 degrees east in longitude and 26.81 degrees north in latitude. There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake. Iran is often shaken by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
