An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale jolted outskirts of the city of Oshtorinan in Lorestan province Saturday, IRNA reported. The provincial seismological center affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 14:50 hours local time (11:50 GMT). The epicenter of the earthquake was in an area located 33.98 degrees in latitude and 48.52 degrees in longitude, the report added. Iran is often shaken by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
