Germany and Jordan inked two cooperation agreements Sunday under which the German government would extend 36 million euros (48.5 million dollars) in grants and soft loans to finance development projects in Jordan. The two accords provide 23.2 million euros to Jordan as concessionary loans, while the remaining 12.8 million euros were provided as grants covering the fiscal years 2004 and 2005. The agreements were signed by the Jordan's Planning and International Cooperation Minister Taysir Smadi and Germany's ambassador to Jordan Klaus Burkhardt.
