Two financial and technical cooperation agreements were signed Monday under which the German government pledged to extend 27.5 million dinars in soft loan and grant to Jordan for financing water management projects, the German embassy said in a statement. The accords, involving a 26.5 million-euro soft loan and a grant of 1 million euros, provide for cooperation for improvement and better management of water supplies in Greater Amman and the central governorates, the statement added, according to dpa. The agreements were signed by the Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Suhair al-Ali and the German ambassador to Jordan Klaus Burkhardt. Jordan is emerging as the "highest per capital recipient of German aid", the embassy said. Over the past four decades, German support to the Hashemite Kingdom exceeded 1.1 billion euros in grants, soft loans and technical assistance, it added. -- SPA
