Saudi General Index record for the cost of living for the month of June rose by 2.2% compared to the same period in the previous year due to the rise experienced by 11 main sections that consist the record for the cost of living in the standard indicators. Director General of Economic Statistics in the Department of General Statistics and Information Fauzan bin Othman Al-Fawzan said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency that the promotion and culture department topped sections last June by 6.9%, followed by clothing and footwear section by (3.9%), home furnishing, equipment and maintenance section by (3.2%), and the section of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels by (3.0%), pointing out that the hikes included the section of health by (2.8%), and the section of tobacco by (2.4%), as well food and beverage section by (2.2%), and the section of communications by (1.1%).
