An Israeli army unit raided Jneid neighborhood in Nablus early Wednesday in an attempt to arrest Palestinians, said security sources. They said the army concentrated on buildings where Najah University students live. Local residents confronted the unit with stones. The soldiers responded by firing rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters at the residents causing one injury in the shoulder from a rubber bullet and another from a gas canister, which hit him in the leg. The army left the area after arresting a university student from Al-Khalil, according to a report of Palestine News and Information Agency "WAFA." Meanwhile, Israel arrested a Palestinian from a Bethlehem area village on Tuesday while he was on his way to Jordan through Karameh crossing.
