JEDDAH — ARM, Sindh-XI and Tamer defeated their respective opponents in the ongoing JCA Premier Division Ace Travel League sponsored by Ace Travel and Tours and organized by JCA.
While ARM recorded a huge 81-run win over Saudi Bitu Corp, Sindh-XI beat ACE Travel by 4 runs and Tamer prevailed over G-BEST IDB by 6 runs in the sixth week matches.
ARM, batting first, put up a fighting score of 217 for 5 wickets. Tabraiz scored a stylish 66 off 42 balls (3 fours, 4 sixes), Sami played an aggressive knock 52 from 27 balls (5 fours, 4 sixes) and Nazeer chipped in with 20. Karam Ali bagged 3 wickets for 34.
In reply, Saudi Bitu Corp was restricted to 136 for 7 wickets. Humayun (15), Faheem (19), and Mustafa (15) were the main scorers. Saadique Merchant (3 for 19), Mansoor (2 for 31) and Arshad (2 for 17) bowled well in tandem to give ARM a big win by 81 runs.
Sindh-XI, batting first, was all out for 163 runs. Shakeel scored 46 off 27 balls with 7 fours and Munawwar propped up the lower order with an unbeaten 23. Azeem, Shahid, Imran and Khalid picked up 2 wickets each for 25, 27, 29 and 27 runs, respectively.
In reply, Ace Travel was restricted to 159 for the loss of 8 wickets. Amir Shahzad 41 (18 balls - 4 fours, 2 sixes), Yasmin (24) and Khalid (27) were the only ones to offer resistance. The other batsmen caved in to the penetrative bowling of Shakeel (3 for 46) and Hassan (2 for 7) to give Sindh-XI a narrow win.
Tamer put on an imposing score of 234 for 5. Irfan 71 off 27 balls (12 fours, 4 sixes) and Afroz 88 off 37 balls (4 fours, 8 sixes) led the onslaught with some lusty hitting. They received good support from Noor (31 not out) and Amjad (36). Mirza was the pick of the bowlers taking 2 for 34.
In reply G-best IDB gave a befitting reply with Junaid playing a superb knock of 87 off only 35 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes. He received good support from Rayees (40), Amanullah (32) and Abdul Quddus (22). But unfortunately they fell short by 6 runs being restricted to 227 for 6. Noor (3 for 36) and Amjad (2 for 45) were the ones responsible to halt the victory march of IDB.
