JEDDAH — Saudi Bitumen, Sindh-XI and ARM scampered home with easy wins in the second week matches of the Ace Travel Premier League sponsored by Ace Travel and Tours Group and organized by JCA.
While Saudi Bitumen and ARM scored identical 4 wickets win over Mazco and Gbest respectively, Sindh-XI won equally comfortably by 43 runs. Saudi Bitumen beat Mazco by 4 wickets. Mazco scored 140 for 7 in its quota of overs. Shoukat scored 52 off 31 balls (5 fours), while Tabassum 38 (2 fours, 1 six) gave good support. Humayun with 2 for 18, Faheem 2 for 20 and a wicket each for Abdul Ghaffar, Aqeel and Faisal bowled a tight length to restrict the rival team. Saudi Bitumen chased the target comfortably, scoring 145 for 6. Suleiman (36-3 fours, 2 sixes) and Humayun (21) were the main scorers, while Nasir and Faisal picked up 2 wickets each for 42 and 24 runs, respectively, but could not prevent Saudi Bitumen from scoring a 4-wicket win.
ARM beat Gbest-IDB by 5 wickets. Gbest, formerly IDB, was restricted to 147 for 8 wickets. ARM bowlers Atta (3 for 32) and Mansoor (2 for 32) bowled nicely along with Zeeshan, Sami and Nazeer Ahmad, who bagged a wicket each. Ashfaq (22), Abdul Quddus (28) and Junaid (34) were the ones to offer some resistance. In reply, Sami led an onslaught with a solid unbeaten knock of 75 with 7 fours and 3 sixes as ARM scored 148 for 6 to win by 4 wickets. Abdul Quddus (3 for 15) and Islam, Ashfaq and Abdullah with a wicket each made ARM fight to reach a relatively small target.
Sindh-XI beat Arcoma Crown by 43 runs. Sindh-XI posted 213 for 7. Mohsin played a solid innings scoring 71 off 35 balls (4 fours, 5 sixes), while Fahad (31), Shakeel (23) and Ali (34) were the other scorers. Mujahid (3 for 29) and Nabeel (2 for 41) toiled hard to prevent them from accelerating. In reply, Arcoma Crown was restricted to 170 for 7 thanks to a fine innings by Ismail, who scored 72 off 43 balls (4 fours and 6 sixes) and Pervaiz 43 off 37 balls (3 fours, I six). Shakeel, Aijaz and Munawwar claimed 2 wickets each for 30, 37 and 18 runs, respectively.
