Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH – The Jeddah chapter of Muslim Service Society (MSS) recently organized a function to honor meritorious students of grade 12 in the All India Secondary School Examination (AISCE) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Raqib Hasan Khan of International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) is the first position holder of the school and the second in the Kingdom. The second meritorious student is Jumana Jamal. Both students have won this year's excellence awards from IISJ. Syed Masood Ahmed, principal of IISJ, and P.M. Ameerali, president of MSS, presented the awards to Jumana and Raqib respectively. Ahmed inaugurated the award distribution ceremony. Sreedevi Menon, assistant director of Programs at Peevees Group and principal of New Al Wurood International School, presented a topic on “Responsibilities of students,” while Ismail Maritheri of King Abdulaziz University spoke on “Effective parenting.” They commended the role of MSS as a driving force to motivate and inspire talented and outstanding students from the Indian community to score new heights of excellence. Abdul Rahman, managing director of Shifa Jeddah Polyclinic; Kunhavutty A Qader, president of Saudi Indian Muslim Cultural Center; K.C. Abdurahman, Overseas Indian Cultural Center; Gopi Nedungadi, Laila Zakir, president of MSS women's wing; and Muhammadali Asghar felicitated the award winners. Ameerali presided over the function in which MSS General Secretary Zakir Hussain Edavanna welcomed the gathering, and Vice President Ashraf Akode proposed the vote of thanks. Awards were also presented to the following outstanding students from grades six to 12 namely Shaheen Najmuddin, Fatima Naja, Farhan Basheer, Nasmil Ashraf, Adnan Jafar, Haya Rahman, Jaseem Jamal, Sayan Sakir, Muhamamd Nihal, Hatem Naser, Shahna Basheer, Fatima Nihala, Wajiha Muhamamdali, Sameel Kunhin, Asheel Roshan, Saheen Sakir, Hiba Salim, Ashfaq Hameed, Lamiya Basheer, Adil Anwar, Abdul Hadi Naseem, Rawda Assainar, Dina Fatima, Minhaj Alawi, Nasreen Alavi, Fatima Sahra, Finosh Najeeb and Shada Shamsuddin.
