JEDDAH — The International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) conducted its Students' Cabinet Investiture Ceremony of grade 9-12 section at the boys' section recently. The newly inducted cabinet members were entrusted with responsibilities and duties to lead the school reach the pinnacle of success. Abdullah Zakir and MajidHussain, meritorious students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Gulf Sahodaya from Stream I and 2 respectively, welcomed the gathering and presented a bouquet each to the chief guest, Mohammed Raqib Qureshi, the school observer and head of chancery, and Dr.Haroon Rasheed, the chairman of the Managing Committee. Qureshi congratulated the new office bearers and urged them to demonstrate leadership qualities and be role models for others. The Vice Principal,Dr. Najeeb Qais, congratulated the young and newly appointed leaders and reposed faith in their abilities to achieve excellence in academics, sports and other co-curricular activities. This was followed by an oath taking ceremony. The Head Master of grade 9-12 boys' section, Noufal P., administered the oath to the newly inducted cabinet members who were honored by Qureshi,Rasheed and Ahmed Najeeb Hashmi. Exuding confidence and with hearts full of commitment ,the Cabinet Members, led by their Head boy Mohammed Maniyar pledged loyalty and selfless service to the school. The young leaders of IISJ promised to uphold the name of the school and bring glory and honor to the institution. The Literary Secretary, Taha Ameen, the CBSE Gulf Sahodaya Topper for the year 2014, promised to be a worthy torchbearer of the school, by adhering to the values of honesty, perseverance, teamwork and service before self. He believes, "Dreams come true when we have the courage to overcome the challenges." The Cabinet Members honored the newly appointed Class Prefects from grades 9-12 by presenting them badges. The Club and the House Incharges were also recognized and honored for their service to the school. Dr.Haroon Rasheed, chairman, put forth his vision of seeing the young IISJians work together as a unified force and bring laurels to the institution. The most anticipated and intriguing event of the day was a short skit performed by the members of the Students' Cabinet. The skit, titled “Respect towards Parents,” reminded the children to recognize, honor and appreciate the love and care they receive from their parents. A PowerPoint presentation, titled "Dare To Dream," by Hussain, a student from grade 12, brought home the proposition of how today's children promised to be the harbingers of change in the present competitive world. The school choir team enthralled the audience with its inspirational and captivating numbers. School Principal Syed Masood Ahmed commended the performance and congratulated the newly appointed cabinet members. He expressed his desire of seeing the young leaders excel in all walks of life. Assistant Head boy Arbaab Khan proposed the vote of thanks.
