JEDDAH — MYACO, ALJ Toyota, Mercedes Benz, SFCC, Al-Mazroi-XI and Attieh Steel won their respective matches in the WPCA Hyundai Naghi Morning Tournament here recently.
Myaco beat ATS by 6 wickets. ATS, batting first, could score only 131 with Lateef smashing 68 runs, Sameer 18 and Dr. Basheer 17. Yaseen grabbed 4-20 and Abdullah 2-26. Myaco reached the target of 132 for the loss of 4 wickets. Skipper Zahoor hit 56 in 33 balls (one six and 8 fours), while Abdullah hit 19. Dr. Basheer took 2-26.
ALJ Toyota beat Haneefa Tigers by 121 runs. ALJ Toyota racked up 217 as Imran Rana smashed 16 fours and a six for his 106 off 52 balls. Opener Tanveer Zamane compiled 33 and Basheer 18. Zahid remained unbeaten on 29 (6 fours) in the penultimate over. Ammar took 2-40. Haneefa Tigers, in reply, could manage only 96-9. Abbas Saad made 23, while Omer hit 15. Arif took 3-9, Tanveer Zamane 2-16 and Aftab 2-11.
Mercedes Benz thrashed Stallions by 7 wickets. Stallions, taking the strike first, scored 134-8 as Abdulrafay hit 31, Usman 20, and Arsalan and Waqas 18 each. Javed grabbed 3-25, Saifuddin 3-27 and Habeeb 2-34. Mercedes Benz, in reply, reached 136 for the loss of three wickets. Jibran hammered 54 (4 fours and 2 sixes) and Saifuddin remained unbeaten on 28. Usman took 2-28 and Waqas 1-21.
SFCC beat Rapidtech by 11 runs in a low-scoring match. SFCC, batting first, could score only 145. Haroon made 35, while Ijaz added 40 as the two put on 73 for the first wicket. The batting lineup then simply caved in against some good bowling by Owais, who grabbed 6-17. Naveed claimed 2-24.
Rapidtech was then bundled out for 134 despite a good start of 72 for the first wicket between Naveed (28) and Fahad (33). Tauseef (22) was the only other batsman to bat confidently. Tariq took 4-13, while Haroon grabbed 3-26 and Bilal 2-32.
Al-Mazroi-XI beat New Young Stars by 72 runs. Al-Mazroi-XI racked up 170-5 with Farooq Patel making 89 (8 fours), while skipper Sufiyan Laheri added 23, Abdullah 16 and Faisal 15. Nadeem took 2-37.
New Young Stars, in reply, could manage only 98. Asif top-scored with 23, while Bilal added 16. Mubeen took 3-14, Abdullah 2-5 and Hamza 2-25.
Attieh Steel downed QRCC by 56 runs. Attieh Steel, batting first, piled up 166-6. Shahid Choudhry made 41 (4 fours and a six), while Waseem KP added 32, Waseem 24 and Kashif 23. Usman took 2-21. QRCC was all out for 110 as Shahid Choudhry took 2-41.
