Farooq, Imran hit tons in Hyundai Morning

JEDDAH — Farooq and Imran Rana hammered centuries to help their respective teams win matches in Hyundai Naghi Summer Morning Tournament here at the Western Province Cricket Association grounds here recently.
Otex beat Jeddah Challengers by five wickets. Jeddah Challengers posted 142-6 through Rizwan 46, Abubaker 24 and Abdulaziz 22. Naeem claimed 3-28. Otex, in reply, reached 145 for the loss of five wickets off 98 balls. Hafiz Usman hit 37 and Imtiyaz 36. Rafeeq took 2-26.
In the second match, Arabian Auto Agency (AA) beat Stallions by 26 runs.
AAA, put into bat, saw skipper Naved Nawaz score 36 and Adnan 34. Naeem hammered an unbeaten 50 off 34 balls to take his team to 184 as Asghar scored a quick-fire 36. Ali grabbed 2-12. Stallions could score only 158-6 despite Usman Ali blasting an unbeaten 84 off 55 balls with 10 fours and a six. Usman Rafeeq later contributed 26. Fakhar took 3-24 and Asghar 2-27.
The third match saw Haneefa Tigers beat Rapidtech by three runs. Haneefa Tigers piled up 150-7 as Daniyal Mahfooz hit 36, Farhan Ahmed 34 and Omar Shareef 27. Inayat Hashmatullah bagged 2-32 and Zubair 2-36. Rapidtech was bowled out for 147. Zubair remained unbeaten on 57, while Inayat Hashmatullah hit 32. Yasir took 3-41, Qudrat 2-24, Omer 2-26 and Hassan 2-31.
In the fourth encounter, Nesma Holding posted 160-4 through Sheraz 47, Ben 40 not out and Akram 27. Mubeen scalped 2-32. Al-Mazroi-XI reached the target thanks to a fabulous century by Farooq. He remained unbeaten on 100 off 51 balls with 16 boundaries. He added 97 runs for the first wicket with Badar (27), while Mohsin remained unbeaten on 19.
In another match, ATS beat MQ Group by 53 runs. ATS racked up 182-4, thanks to a fantastic innings of 84 by Nadeem Bhatkar (5x4 and 4x6) as he added 66 runs for the first wicket with Mazen (38) and then 65 runs with Sameer (28). Mohsin grabbed 2-24. MQ Group had a disastrous start as it lost three wickets for nine runs. It could score only 129. Zubair scored 27 and Asghar 23. All-rounder Bhatkar then took 3-28, Dr. Basheer 2-19, Amir 2-14 and Taiyyab 2-26.
ALJ Toyota then beat Orbital Horizon by 33 runs. Imran Rana blasted 15 boundaries to remain unbeaten on 110 off 58 balls, Basheer made 22, while Zahid added 23 to help ALJ Toyota get to 191. Jamshaid took 2-34. Orbital Horizon, in reply, saw Waseem remain unbeaten on 54 off 20 balls and Tehseen 41 not out as the team could reach only 158. Sheraz grabbed two wickets.
In another encounter, QRCC beat New Young Stars by 21 runs. QRCC piled up 163-5 through Ashraf (46) and Zaffar (40). Taiyyab took 3-35 and Arsalan 2-35. New Young Stars team was restricted to 142 as Iqbal Sheikh sent three batsmen packing for 27 runs. Among the runs were Bilal with 47 not out, Arsalan 34 and Shabbir 31 not out.
