Mohammed Alshoaiby Saudi Gazette RIYADH — The Saudi Electronics and Home Appliances Institute (SEHAI) graduated its third batch of Saudi students at their Diriyah campus on Saturday. The batch comprised 62 students, culminating in over 200 graduates since SEHAI started operation in 2009, after a deal was made between Saudi and Japanese parties, including the Saudi Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and Nippon Engineering College in Japan. “I believe that you are role models; you are the youth of today, and the men of tomorrow,” SEHAI Director, Fahad Al Harbi told the graduates at the ceremony. “The whole society is truly proud of you, and is expecting much from you. I believe that you would fulfill and go far beyond the expectations,” he continued. Attending the event was Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jiro Kodera, who gave a congratulatory speech at the ceremony. He said the graduates' education had prepared them not only with the technical skills required of the electronics and home appliances field, but also work ethics and discipline, which he said was “fundamental in conducting team work." SEHAI is a Saudi-Japanese institute located in Al Diriyah, outside of Riyadh, and focused on the technical study of electronics and home appliance maintenance and configuration. Graduates have already signed deals with home appliance and electronics titans in the Kingdom, including Alessa Group, Modern Electronics (Al Faisaliyah Group), Olayan Group and Zagzoog Home Appliances. Graduate Sahl Al Harbi gave a speech at the event on behalf of his peers. “The secret of our happiness and pleasure is in fact because this graduation has its effect upon our country and upon the Saudi citizens,” he said, emphasizing SEHAI's role in promoting Saudization with their Saudi-centric admission policy. “Our institute is a great treasure,” he added. “I advise you to benefit from every moment to gain new skills and increase your experiences,” Al Harbi told his fellow graduates. Also in attendance at the event were Governor of the Saudi Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), Ali Al Ghafis; Director of Petroleum Policy at the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Hideyuki Urata; Chairman of SEHAI's Board of Trustees and President of Al Faisaliyah Group, Prince Mohammed Bin Khalid Al Abdullah Al Faisal and owners of Saudi electronics and home appliances companies.
