The second batch of students of the Saudi Electronics & Home Appliances Institute (SEHAI) are attending the four-week On-the-Job-Training (OJT) program in the Saudi Working Group companies of ALJ (Toshiba), Zagzoog (Fujitsu General), Ahmed Zainy Co.(Daikin), Olayan (Toshiba PC & Xerox), Modern Electronics (Sony), Alessa (Hitachi), and United Matbouli (Samsung), across the Kingdom. This OJT is SEHAI's original program for the second year students with the target of deep understanding of the practical working concept at their companies' service centers and showrooms. They will see how they can utilize their basic skills and knowledge learnt at SEHAI. SEHAI instructors and Japanese experts visited service centers in Jeddah, Makkah, Madina, Jizan, Damman, Al-Khobar, Hohuf, Taif, and Riyadh to see how the students and the first graduates of SEHAI were working. In Riyadh, Toshikazu Tokioka, Economic Attache at the Embassy of Japan in the Kingdom, made a visit to the service centers of Alessa and Modern Electronics together with Japanese experts. Tokioka appreciated the companies' well-organized efforts to receive SEHAI students. He checked their punctuality, attendance in working hours, teamwork, attitude, appearance, English communication skills, eagerness to work and basic skills and knowledge, productivity etc. which were regarded as Japanese common work-ethics at workplaces. He was also impressed to see that a SEHAI graduate was training the second batch of students of the washing machine repair program at Alessa, saying, ‘this is the model of the cooperation between SEHAI and Saudi Working Group companies'. SEHAI students will return to the institute as the 4th term begins in February. They will learn more about technology in electronics, AC, home appliances and PC & Office equipment than before because they know what they must do in the institute to improve their own technical skills.
