Japan Working Group (JWG), headed by Yoshitaka Nakamura, managing director, Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME), visited SEHAI Diraiya campus in Riyadh recently and had a meeting with Saudi Working Group (SWG) on action plan for fiscal year 2011 and achievement in the previous year. In the meeting, Salim Al-Asmarei, head of SWG, appreciated Japanese positive cooperation and its steady development of technical curriculum in SEHAI. Fahad Al-Harbi, director of SEHAI, made a presentation on current situation of SEHAI management and activities. Other SWG members, including Dr. Abdulkareeem, managing director, Al-Essa (Hitachi); Suwailem, managing director, Modern Electronics (Sony); and other representatives from ALJ (Toshiba and Sharp), Zagzoog(Fujitsu General), Ahmed Zainy Electric and Air Conditioning(Daikin), Olayan (Toshiba-PC), United Matbouli (Samsung) valued JWS's activities. SEHAI, after completion of the first 4-week OJT program by the first batch students in the field of electronics, home appliances, air-conditioner and PC & office equipment, gears up for the implementation of the second OJT, final examinations, instructors' training in Japan, Germany and UAE (Dubai), dispatch of Japanese engineers for lectures at SEHAI and skill presentation in June/July in coordination with three Japanese experts who are stationed in SEHAI from its opening. Nakamura and Al-Asmarei had also a meeting with Dr. Ali Ghafis, governor of TVTC and Dr.Saleh Al-Amr, vice governor, who appreciated JWG's efforts and confirmed their continuous cooperation, including construction of SEHAI dormitory. SEHAI is set to receive the third batch of students in the academic year of 2011/2012. Established in September, 2009, SEHAI has elaborately succeeded to achieve academic experiences and programs, including instructors' training in Japan at Nippon Engineering College Tokyo, Panasonic, Sharp, Daikin and Konica Minolta and in Germany at Toshiba Europe. It also held technical training by Japanese engineers at SEHAI workshops and the first on the job training at SWG's workshops in the Kingdom. Those programs will continue in order to maintain the quality of technical education in a coming year.
