KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Wednesday recorded 651 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed infections to 69,425, according to a statement from the country's health ministry carried by Kuwait News Agency. Of the new cases, there are 425 Kuwaiti citizens and 226 expatriates from different countries, according to the ministry's spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad. The ministry also announced three more deaths from complications due to the COVID-19 infection, bringing the total number of virus-related fatalities in the country to 468. The spokesman also said that there are currently 128 patients who are receiving necessary treatment in intensive care units. He added that a total of 4,450 additional coronavirus tests were conducted over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of tests done in the country so far to 518,601. Earlier in the day, the ministry also said that 580 more patients have recovered from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, pushing the total number of recoveries from the deadly disease in Kuwait to 60,906.
