AL-LAITH — A border guard was killed by traffickers in the Al-Dayer sector of Jazan. Spokesman for Jazan Border Guard Col. Abdullah Bin Mahfouz said border patrols monitored the activities of a group of smugglers on the southern border and tried to arrest them but they were fired at. The officers returned fire and a guard was shot in the head during the exchange and the traffickers fled the scene. Reinforcements were called in and they began an intense search for the traffickers. Commander of Jazan Border Guards Maj. Gen. Mohammad Al-Subhi offered his condolences to the bereaved family.
