Border Guard patrols have foiled a number of smuggling attempts during the current month, Maj. Gen. Abdul Aziz Bin Mohammed Al-Subhi, Commander of the force in Jizan region, said here Tuesday. “Efforts exerted by Border Guard patrols resulted in the seizure of a huge quantity of ammunition and drugs, two hunting rifles, 92 bottles of wine, 1,971 kg of fireworks, 1,600 kg of fish and 3,239 heads of cattle,” Al-Subhi said in a statement. Currency worth SR349,394 was also recovered, he said. The Border Guard also arrested 13,800 infiltrators and 190 smugglers, Al-Subhi added.
