JEDDAH — Green House boys emerged champions in the Grade I and II Section of the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) Annual Sports Meet, which was held at the school premises here recently. Blue House took the runner-up honors. The tiny tots were divided into four houses — Green, Blue, Yellow and Red. After recitation of verses from the holy Qur'an, Head Prefect Master Areeb welcomed the gathering and Principal Syed Masood Ahmed declared the meet open. A marvelous skating show, put up by Class II students before the commencement of the events, stole the show and won the hearts of the crowd. The budding athletes competed for glory in 50m, 75m and 100m sprints and relay races. Other fun events like teeny–weeny race, wheel–barrow race, kangaroo race, humpty-dumpty race, obstacle race, three-legged race were so exciting. Master Mirza Jawad Ali Baig and Master Zakaria Shamsuddin took top honors in 100 meters race. Master Mohammed Rameez Akram and Master Abdur Rahman won the 75m, while Master Aijaz Moin Khan and Master Omar Mohammed Laique dominated the 50m. After the prize distribution Master Hadi proposed the vote of thanks. — SG
