Young cabinet members of IISD take oath By Faisal Aboobacker Ponnani The new academic session 2012-13 of Upper Primary Boys' Section of International Indian School, Dammam, began with the investiture ceremony of the student cabinet. The student cabinet comprised of the captain, vice captain, head prefect, prefects and house captains of the discipline patrol, solemnly pledged to uphold the school's values in a colorful ceremony. They vowed to maintain order with patience, compassion, and disciplined behavior. Headmaster Mohammed Ismail welcomed the guests and gathering and announced the names of the cabinet members: Captain, Master Mohammed Suhail; Head Prefect, Master Kurais Manoj; and Vice captains, Master Hani Abdul Rashed and Master Danish Islam. The members were then honored with badges. Ismail said, “ IIS Dammam is committed to actively raising the quality of life for every child. We want all children to achieve their full potential. Our mission is to provide practical, step by step assistance and excellence.” He advised the boys to maintain discipline and prepare themselves to be challenged and inspired. Principal and Head of the Institution Dr. E.K.Mohammed Shaffe addressed the students and teachers after lighting the candles of the main office bearers. Suhail gave his first acceptance speech to the gathering. Staff secretary Shalima Ganesh Prasad proposed the vote of thanks. The program was compered by Shakila Premarajan and Philomena D'Costa. Rabia Nikhat, and Kezia Thompson with the help of other physical education teachers and staff made the program a complete success. IISJ celebrates Labor Day The Indian International School, Jeddah, girls' section ( grades 6 - 8), celebrated “Labor Day” in a special assembly conducted on May 1. Nimra Moin of Grade 6 spoke on the importance of labor day, stressing that every profession has its own importance, dignity and requirement in the society. The students of grade 6 dressed in different professions, such as, doctor, teacher, farmer, porter, maid servant and cleaners, highlighted the contribution and the significant role they play in the society. The headmistress of the block quizzed the students on the significance of the Labor Day, after which the students sang a song on the dignity of labor. __
