JEDDAH — The Red House claimed the Junior Section (Classes III-V) Trophy following their Annual Sports Day at the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) here recently. The Green House finished 1st runner-up, followed by the Blue House on a day that was marked by a string of spectacular performances by the little champs, who were brimming with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Master Bilal of the Red House claimed the Group A individual championship; while Master Mishal, also of the Red House, clinched the Group B individual championship; and Master Nabeel Mohammad bagged the Group C individual trophy. The annual sports day was attended by the school's Principal Syed Masood Ahmed, vice principals of the boys' and girls' sections, COE, AO and HMs of different blocks. They also gave away prizes at the end of the event. Earlier the ceremony started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an followed by their translation. Master Adnan Gulam, Head Prefect of III-V Block, welcomed the gathering. The march past by the houses, that followed, exhibited discipline and the practice the students had put into it. The sports secretary administered the oath to the House captains and the participants. The principal then officially declared the sports meet open, and released balloons symbolizing the vibrant hopes of the students. The sports secretary and the house captains then lit the sports torch. This was followed by the drill display that kept the audience spellbound. The highlight of the day, the athletics, followed that included track events and other innovative events like getting ready for school, dressing up a clown, caterpillar race, etc. The event came to an end with a vote of thanks, leaving the audience with thrilling memories.
