JEDDAH — Events International (EI), a community organization, organized their first musical show in Saudi Arabia by giving Pakistani singer, Bassam, his debut in Jeddah at a local restaurant. Bassam, who has already performed in Dubai, Bahrain, Riyadh, Kuwait, Muscat, and India, took the Jeddah crowd by storm on Thursday night. He has recently recorded a song in an Indian Kannada movie. The event hosted by Events International (EI), a company registered in Malaysia with a branch in Dubai, was aptly named “Bassam” and the singer did not disappoint. He rendered 15 songs in Hindi, Punjabi and Arabic including ‘ShukranAllah' and ‘Habeebi ya noor al ain'. He then performed in a duet with local singer Rehanna Saleem, and they belted out ‘Fevicol se' and many more melodious numbers. Fareed Ali Khan, a peoples' favorite in Jeddah who recently went live on air on Mix FM, also entertained with ‘Parda hai parda' and ‘Dard-e-Disco' among other numbers. A laser show was also conducted for the first time in a South Asian community event in Jeddah and the organizers received rapturous appreciation from the attendees. BFAM (brothers from another mother), a local group of freestyle dancers from different countries, showcased their outstanding talent with an amazing performance, followed by a magic show, organized by Basheer Khan and Ahmed who have also performed several times on television. Delegates from the Pakistani Consulate and Sheikh Luqman were the chief guests of the event. “The response of the audience was amazing and very supportive. It was an honor to perform to such a lovely audience. We hope to provide better entertainment next time,” said Bassam. He added, “I am very happy with all the organizers, the event was very well organized and they did a marvelous job. I thank the audience and all the fans for their love and support.” Singer Fareed Ali Khan said, “It was a honor and great feeling to be a part of such a planned and organized event.” He added, “The audience was amazing, supportive and cheerful; it was fun performing for them.” Syed Manzar Sabzwari, the organizer of the event, said: “It was a huge success, and the response was above expectations as it was our first show in Saudi Arabia.” He added, “We plan to make Events International a brand name in Saudi Arabia.” The sponsors were Stars Video Society, Mehfil restaurant and Media Spot.
