Expatriates and music lovers of Jeddah had a night full of entertainment and melodious live music performance by famous Indian singer Raja Hassan along with local talented performers at a program organized by an expat group “Saaz and Awaz” Thursday. Raja Hassan, who belongs to Rajhistan, was the first runner up of the popular ZEE T.V show of SA-RE-GA-MA-PA. Raja Hassan arrived on stage in a traditional Rajhistani black outfit. He sang new and trendy numbers and also old and evergreen songs like Aaj mausam bada bayiman hai, Tu hi haqeeqat khawab tu, Meray dil nay tarap kay jab naam tera pukara. “I am very much impressed by the response of the audience. I don't know the show was successful or not, also don't have any idea of my performance in the show, but I know that the audience was very nice and enthusiastic,” said Raja. “I selected the songs by sensing the mood of the audience and they cooperated well,” he said. He ended the show with the last song from his newly-released album “Yaar miladay rabba meray.” Keyboard was played by Rayan, base and supporting guitarist were Ghaffar and kumar. Hussain and Ansar performed well on the Tabla. Organizer of the show Maher Siddiqui sang a Muhammad Rafi song. The concert was well anchored by Arif Bhaldar. “I think music is the perfect stress-reliever,” Maher said. At the end of the show Maher rewarded a person named Jevan Rajgeer with a gift pack as he returned a lost bag having SR18,000. Local artist who participated in the concert included Rehana Saleem, Bassam, Haseeb and Master Ahmed.
