Syeda Amtul Saudi Gazette Music lovers of Jeddah had a night full of entertainment as they enjoyed to groovy, feet tapping numbers by noted singers and bands in a cultural program organized by “AAG, the power of youth" in Jeddah. Sheikh Luckman and Dr. Nusrat Mirza were the chief guests at the event. Singers of the evening who enthralled the crowd with their melodies were Ibrahim Malik, Salman Saleem, Zee Qureshi and Wania Jibran, among others. The evening commenced with the young and talented Farhan SJ singing the sensational “Gulabi Ankhien." Hassan Yaqoub and JD Siddiqui sang “Salli Tu Manni Nahi" and “Soniye" respectively, which captivated the audience's heart. DK Bose was sung by Mujtuba (Bappi), Yaqoub and Saleem. Siddiqui, Saleem, and Danish (KDS) then sang “Dus Bahane" followed by Wania Jibran who sang the soft and melodious “Woh Humsafar" and many other songs accompanied by guitarist Waqas Quraishi. Jibran, a 14-year-old from Pakistan was a participant of the reality show “Chotay Ustad" aired on Star Plus and Geo in 2010. She has also sang a sad song for a Pakistani soap “My Dear Sotun," completely justifying its intense lyrics. The audience was elated to listen to the song live. Saleem also sang Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's song “O Re Piya," which left the crowd mesmerized. After which, Abdullah Iqbal lent his voice to “Jye Ho" and Farhaj Munir to a Punjabi number. Sheikh Ali made the crowd nostalgic by singing “Ya Ali." Siddiqui, Saleem, and KDS dedicated “Shah ka Ruthba'a" to the program organizers AAG. The evening's last performance on the song “Bandya Ho" was delivered by Jibran, Saleem and Siddiqui. Spectacular performances were given by “Black," a band from Riyadh, and “Mekail." A surprise award ceremony was held to appreciate and encourage the talented singers and performers. The audience's response was remarkable. It's not easy to have the attention of more than 900 people until 3 AM, but AAG did it. It was so much fun taking pictures of the event. “People in Jeddah need these kinds of activities. We hope AAG does it again and we wish them more success in the future. For all of those who were not there do try to make it next time, you'll be surprised by their energy and talent."
