Abdulrahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Three Africans have been arrested and a hunt is on for their accomplice for allegedly robbing a Saudi national while he was exiting a bank in the city. The gang members allegedly beat up the Saudi and snatched a bag containing SR180,000. The victim raised an alarm and a team of Jeddah Police gave the robbers a chase who were fleeing in a small car. The police intercepted the gang members in Al-Aziziyah District and three members were arrested while the fourth one managed to give the police a slip. The trio is being interrogated for similar crimes in the past. Investigations with the gang revealed that they monitor the victims and snatch the bags from them when they exit the bank and assault them in case they resist. The media spokesman of Jeddah Police, Brig. Misfer Al-Juaid, cautioned against carrying large amounts of money. He also said the Ministry of Interior's instructions are that a security guard should accompany the accountant during his trips to and from banks.
