Three young Arabs – aged between 19 and 22 – specialized in snatching mobile phones and women's handbags have been caught red-handed by a security patrol here Friday. The gang had spread terror in the districts of Al-Jamea, Sulaimaniya and Al-Thagr. On repeated reports, security authorities put the alleged men under surveillance. Preliminary investigations showed that one of the team members was tasked with selecting the victim and passing on the information to the other two. When the two would arrive at the scene, one would distract the attention of the victim while the other would attack and snatch away the victim's handbag or mobile phone. The patrol caught the gangsters red-handed at the crime scene in Al-Sulamaniya while they tried to snatch a mobile phone from a woman. Brig. Misfer Al-Juaid, spokesman of Jeddah Police, said the three men were apprehended and taken into custody. __
