On the occasion of the 41st anniversary of Bangladesh Independence Day, the dedicated and loyal enthusiasts of the Late President Zia organized a symposium in memory of martyrs and freedom fighters Wednesday at the auditorium of The East Ramad Hotel here. Video slides about the history of Bangladesh, especially during the liberation war time, were shown. Qari Abdul Hakim presided over the function, which was conducted by Ahmed Ullah Joni. Mohd. Firoj Khan, former BIS-Bengali Section, BOD Chairman was chief guest; Special guests were Rafiqul Islam, Dr.Zaqiul Hasan Zaqir, Dr. Mamunur Rahman, Dr.Asaduzzaman, Abdul Muttaleb, Golam Sawroyer, Abul Basher, Sadek Hossain, Dr.Sohan, Tajul Islam Gazi, Jahangir Alam, Joynal AbedinBaker, and Engr.Humayun Kabir. The guests spoke about the liberation war history and recalled with appreciation the highest sacrifices by martyrs and freedom fighters for the sake of the country. They also urged the audience to be committed to respect the law of the host country, as well as to keep the own country's image untarnished. __
