BIS (Bengali Section) held an award ceremony to honor the school's top achievers in the Secondary School Examinations (SSC) – 2009, the largest public examination in Bangladesh. BIS achieved hundred percent results in the exams, which were taken by 80 students, both boys and girls, of the school. It was organized and supervised by the Bangladeshi Consulate in Jeddah. Bangladeshi Consul General Golam Sarwar, who was the chief guest at the function and distributed the awards, said in his speech: “Dear students, you are the future of the nation. So build your life carefully. Outside Bangladesh, the BIS results have made us proud and I hope this will continue.” He thanked the school authorities for the “proper guidance” they provided to the students that he said led to the hundred percent results. Md. Kaisarul Islam, Labor Consul, who was the special guest, congratulated the “students, parents, teachers, and the school administration as each of them have played a vital role in the achievement of these excellent results,” he said. Special guest Sameera Aziz, Saudi Gazette senior editor, thanked the Bangladeshi community for their “support and interest”, saying: “I look forward to stay more connected with the Bangladeshi community. The support and appreciation that a Bangladeshi nation has for women is immense, as is evident by the fact that the country has a woman president. Nations which respect and trust women always achieve their goals, as a woman is the one who brings the soul to this world.” Principal Md. Rafiqul Islam Farooqui said that he was “proud of the glorious results” and thanked the parents, teachers and the consulate. Md. Jahangir Alam, chairman of the school's managing committee, presided over the ceremony. He described the results as “exceptional”.
