Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee may allow non-Saudis born in the Kingdom to represent Saudi Arabia in various international sports events, said Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, General President of Youth Welfare and President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, here Wednesday. He said the subject would be tabled for discussion at the Committee's next meeting. Announcing a number of decisions relating to Saudi football, Prince Nawaf allowed the use of loudspeakers in stadiums under certain conditions. He also renamed the Saudi Professional League as the League of Professional Clubs and ordered that local teams can hire no more than three foreign professional players. The General Assembly for the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) will be reconstituted with wider powers. Prince Nawaf said a committee would be formed to specify the mechanisms for selecting the General Assembly from players, referees, coaches and representatives of clubs. Prince Nawaf said the Kingdom would offer to host the Asian Football Confederation Under-22 Championship in 2013 and the Asian Nations Cup in 2019. He said this would be accompanied by a complete development of sports facilities including introducing electronic gates for entry, and setting up restaurants in stadiums.
