Japan Working Group (JWG), headed by Kenichi Sawaguchi, Project Leader of SEHAI project team, Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME), visited Riyadh Tuesday and had a meeting with Saudi Working Group (SWG). They evaluated each group's achievements last year. SEHAI classes started Sept. 26, 2009 in Diraiya, Riyadh. With the cooperation of JWG, SEHAI has succeeded to organize a technical training program by Japanese engineers in its workshops. Eng. Satoh, Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc. (Tokyo), and Eng. Asano and Eng. Kawata, Daikin Industries, Ltd. (Osaka), implemented the intensive 3-day training for SEHAI instructors and 2nd year grade students alike. The training was aimed to enhance the technical capacities of SEHAI instructors and impress on the SEHAI students the Japanese engineers' professional skills. To facilitate the practical training, SEHAI has equipped the workshops with equipment, including newly purchased units of Konica Minolta's multi function printer and AC units donated by Ahmed Zainy Co., etc. Salim Asmarei, head of SWG, appreciated the training and positive activities by JWG and assured further communication to expand SEHAI's quality of education. Other SWG members, including Muhammad Al-Sheikh, assistant vice president of Olayan Financing Group (Toshiba) and Asem Al-Humaid, general manager for service of Modern Electronics (SONY) and others also welcomed JWG's activities. SEHAI, after having completed the first 4-week OJT program in January-February 2011 by the first batch of students in the field of electronics, home appliances, air-conditioner, PC and office equipment, prepares it fourth academic term for the first batch and second term for the second batch students in coordination with three Japanese experts who are stationed in SEHAI from September 2009.
