Liquidators-3 and Micah's Pride rout rivals
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 28 - 05 - 2016

JEDDAH — The combined ingenuity of Erwin Palilio and Marcelo Manalo favored their team when it dominated Four Season while Micah's Pride broke through the barriers of top four cutoff by silencing Lane Axis on the 21st week of the FEDBG-FMBL 17th meet at Bowling City here.
With their game schemed on four handicappers and two rated bowlers Liquidators-3, after narrowly losing Game One at 1,226-1,206, bettered their offense to succeed the second game at 1,232-1,146 and be advantaged at computed 2-games series of 2,438-2,372. Seeing the turn of events, Four Season team captain Rene Ocampo, George Mangaliman, Richard Antonio and Med Ramos heightened their combined scratch deflections at 762 to outscore Liquidators' TC Palilio, Melo Dianco, Abdulfat Mogawan and Hanna Reyes who could only defend w 702. Four Season thus toppled the scratch set, but with seven-mark handicap disparity at 164-100, Liquidators won in handicapped set at 1,186-1,133 which is also attributed to the higher production of Jess Pineda and Manalo (320) against Frank Afurong and Marie Gumpal who only combined for 271.
These scenarios made Liquidators the better team with 12 points and total output of 3,624 shared by Dianco at 668, Reyes with 634, Mogawan 620, Pineda 578 and Manlo 510. Four Season embraced defeat with 10 points on aggregate of 3,505 contributed by Ocampo 635, Antonio 616, Ramos 612, Mangaliman 609, Gumpal 526 and Afurong 507.
Patience and determination paid Micah's Pride off when it caught Lane Axis defenseless against the might of Paolo Allego, Oca Bernabe, Nethneth Cerbito, TM Ester Santoc, Melvin Lising and Jack Jarin who lopsidedly dominated the match at 22-0 submission. Micah's Pride weighed the match at 1,304-1,254 with Allego, Lising and Bernabe scratching 245, 226 and 204, responded by Bonnie Garcia, TC Jay Bengco, Cesar Monares and co-TC Ruben Griño at respective parrying of 227, 216 206 and 202. Garcia 222 and Monares 225 rallied in game two but they did not survive the cohesive walling of the Micah forte to once more eclipse with 1,261-1,219. Bengco tried enlivening teammates in the endgame but Micah's Pride sustained well coordinated games to empty Lane Axis at 3,822-3,526 including 1,257-1,053 last set.
Micah's Pride collected its second Team of the Week honor with Allego doubling their grace by garnering his first Bowler of the Week accolade on his series of 727 brilliantly collected from great games of 256, 225 and 246. Bernabe planked Allego best with 643 followed by Cerbito 639, Santoc 636, Lising 616 and Jarin 561. Bengco and Garcia defended Lane Axis with 617 and 612.
Ekis-8 and Sagmit Dental Clinic also made news when they slated clean against Pin Slasher and FB Rhinos respectively. Alma Bacero topped Ekis board with lady Bowler of the Week-winning series of 675 from games of 262, 207 and 206 to lead the Ernie Geslani-managed team on their 3,796-3,399 lambastes of Pin Slasher whose greatest defender is May Lourdes with 633.
With Myrna Santoc unexpectedly contributing beyond par to Sagmit Dental Clinic winning cause, the Rhinos got pinned down on final tallies of 3,747-3,516 with Ding dela Rosa scoring best at 699 for the Evelyn Santoc-managed SDC. Imelda Sayago tried a 635 igniter for the Oliver Robles skippered squad. Other results showed that league-leader Cool Guys beat Casadores 18-4, second-running BCT-JBS Pro Shop walloped Trojans 20-2 and Global Intergold took all points from the no-show Marinduqueño.
