Micah's Pride outpoints Trojans
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 16 - 04 - 2016

JEDDAH — Disfavored in running aggregate at 2,570-2,539 carding 4-4 in the first two games, Micah's Pride, led by Paolo Allego, managed to squeeze Trojans and take the lead on the last set to win the match, while Lane Axis held on to their 201-pin advantage so that though they relinquished the endgame to Global Intergold they still clinched their third Team of the Week honor at the end of the 15th week of the FEDBG Friday Morning Bowling 17th meet at Bowling City here.
With Oca Bernabe doing his toil and Allego, Nethneth Cerbito and Melvin Lising solidly planking, Micah's Pride was all the way supreme in scratch deal at 1,224-1,194, 1,115-1,111 and 1,131-1,031 (3,470-3,336). But what caused their momentary disadvantage was the 100-134 edge in handicap that made Trojans take a defensive stance in the first two games. Knowing another lose in handicap set will cause their overall handicapped defeat, Allego took charge of the helm and with all the cast in concrete support, Micah's Pride eclipsed the last game at 1,231-1,165 to conclude the match 18-4 (3,770-3,738).
Bernabe contributed with 674 on scratch of 650 on lines of 226, 223 and 201, followed by Allego at 667, TM Ester Santoc 617, Cerbito 613, Lising 605 and TC Rolly Vistal 594.
Trojans was significantly defended by Steve Fragata 674, Cloyd Opena at 671 with a hi-scratch of 268, Edison Arena 654, Ruel Perez 620, Ed Sardena 605 and TC Sally Sanosa 544.
Lane Axis eclipsed Global Intergold 2,644-2,443 on the tremendous games of Bonnie Garcia, Cesar Monares, Rey Feliciano, Aileen Miralbuna, Obie Ycasas and Jayson Castillo. Although Garcia and Feliciano were in form, Danny Bautista showed his well-reputed skill to lead Global Intergold in an intense pursuit to cap his 216, 267 with a whirling scratch of 277 to boost their chase 1,343-1,189.
Despite the rest of the cast being solidly behind Global, Lane Axis saved the match 18-4 and signed TOW-winning tallies of 3,833-3,786. Consolation to Global Intergold was Bautista's feat of winning his second Bowler of the Week accolade on scratch series of 760.
Giving another Team of the Week honor to Lane Axis were Garcia (606), Monares (658), Feliciano (701), Miralbuna (600), Ycasas (647) and Castillo (621). Benjie Cils, Pinky Acato, Rivera, Rudy Valenzuela and Robert Bago augmented Bautista with games of 644, 650, 396, 669 and 567, respectively.
Among teams that also carded 18-4 were Four Season, Pin Slashers and Cool Guys separately beating Sagmit Dental Clinic, Liquidators-3 and BCT-JBS at 3,700-3,460, 3,668-3,514 and 3,828-3,688.
Ekis-8 and Casadores blanked undermanned FB Rhinos and Marinduquenos, respectively. Record holders on hi-series with handicap, hi-series scratch, hi-game with handicap and hi-game scratch in team were: Four Season 4,061, Ekis-8 3,571, Micah's Pride 1,390 and Sagmit Dental Clinic 1,276.
