BCT-JBS shines at FEDBG-FMBL meet
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 26 - 04 - 2016

JEDDAH — BCT-JBS Pro Shop team blasted its rivals in two back-breaking games to walk home with their second Team of the Week honor, while FB Rhinos capitalized their handicap to pin down Global Intergold at the conclusion of Week 16 of the FEDBG-FMBL 17th meet at Bowling City here.
Team captain Emil Payongayong spearheaded BCT-JBS in trouncing Casadores with his total of 685 from scratch of 661 glittered by 266 and 236. Such leadership inspired Rommel Cagampang, Jimmy Aragones, Ryan Conde, Eloisa Fernandez and Romel Agbayani to back their skipper with games of 679, 653, 622, 618 and 577, respectively.
BCT-JBS was in total command of the match with its two-thirds computed at 2,700-2,334 from sets of 1,346-1,179 and 1,354-1,155. But on the last lap, Bing Amolo and Marlon Bernabe led teammates with 253 and 221 to save the end game with support from Matet Cavite (185), Tommy Kamal (214) and Rick TIbayan (218). This last-stint cohesiveness gave the undermanned Casadores 4 points but made BCT-JBS collect their second Team of the Week accolade.
Team chief Oliver Robles claimed the Bowler of the Week honors as he helped FB Rhinos against Global Intergold. He scored 698 points (with games of 223, 220 and 255). That helped FB Rhinos clear the handicap sets at 1,238-1,215, 1,242-1,222 and 1,287-1,189. Rhinos also won the last scratch game at 1,102-1,077 but Global Intergold took the first two scratch sets and the game at 3,290-3,212 securing 8 points.
This made the cards at 14-8 signed on totals of 3,767-3,626. Backing up Robles on this exemplary outing were Simeon Dellosa, Mariz Resano and Rene Balangue, Jun Palacios and Rod Lofamia who planked 656, 635, 630, 575 and 573. Causing most of Global Intergold defense were Danny Bautista, Robert Bago and Benjie CIls marking all beyond 600. TC Serge Rivera, Pinky Acato and Rudy Valenzuela combined for 1,740.
Also in par outings was the Ekis-8 which moved out Four Season from the red column as TC Engineer Geslani enabled to orchestrate a game scheme that helped Rene Ocampo to 18-4 (,3751-3,693) settlement. Zaldy Bacero led the binge with 698 (266, 226, 206) scratch that leveled Robles in the Bowler of the Week honor.
Faisal Relativo supported with 657 while Four Season had Cheryl TIbay topped the board with lady Bowler of the Week-winning tally of 638 on games of 235, 203 and 200. Also manning the defense of Four Season were Archie Santos, George Mangaliman, Richard Antonio, Marie Gumpal and Ocampo who all scored convincingly but not enough to surpass Ekis production as Geslani, Rey Beltran, Jimmy Mandingiado and Malou Gime did better.
Elsewhere Micah's Pride trashed Marinduquenos 22-0, Pin Slashers routed Trojans 18-4, Lane Axis mauled league-leader Sagmit Dental Clinic 18-4 and Cool Guys blanked Liquidators-3. The best scorers were: Melvin Lising with 666 for Micah, Natty Caringal with 669 for Pin Slashers, Obie Ycasas with 643 for Lane Axis and Nezar Alhamwi with 674 for Cool Guys.
