Habeeb blasts 160, Muneeb records hat trick

JEDDAH — Faiq Habeeb hammered 160 runs and Muneeb recorded a hat trick in the Premier 35-over Championship, organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).
AOT defeated ALS Warriors by 31 runs. AOT racked up 341-7, thanks to Faiq Habeeb's second consecutive ton. Habeeb blasted 160 in 84 balls with 20 fours and a six. He first added 83 with Faisal Mehmood (43) and then 103 in 56 balls for the seventh wicket with Naeem Shah (50 in 26 balls). Aqeel stroked 20 and Qasim Asim remained unbeaten on 23. Haider took 3-70 and Amjed 2-49.
ALS Warriors, in response, fell short by 31 runs. Mohammed Khan scored 33, Talha 31, Abdulaleem 19 and Furqan 16. Emaduddin dominated with 86 in 60 balls with 7 fours. He first added 59 with Ramazan (20) then 76 with Amjad Jutt, who smashed 58 in 28 balls. Aqeel took 3-47, Waqas 3-44 and Faiq Habeeb 2-37.
IDB won against Friends XI by 70 runs. IDB plundered 338-9. Rahat Choudhry hit 34 and Waleed 17. Junaid Hashim stroked 51 in 35 balls and Fahad 41. Arif Nazeer smashed 57 with 4 sixes and 3 fours, Sufiyan 33 and Farook 23. Saleem was the most successful bowler with 4-65 and Samer 2-56.
Friends XI, in reply, was stranded at 268-7. Niaz Ahmed made 86 in 85 balls with 8 fours. Usman hit 73 in 34 balls and the two added 125 in 79 balls for the fourth wicket. Later, Junaid compiled 29 and Samer hit an unbeaten 21. Junaid Hashim took 3 wickets.
Afternoon T20
Lothers CC won against AGA by 32 runs. Lothers piled up 164-8. Badushah scored 28, Adarsh 42, Umar 30 and Pradeep 18. Noor took 2-18. AGA was stranded at 132-8. Muzammil remained unbeaten on 53 off 39 balls and Lala made 26. Yasir took 3-23, Pradeep 2-20 and Shibu 2-29.
APF trounced AMI Juffali by 12 runs. APF racked up 188-3. Ali Ansar hit 17 and Gulzar 65 in 36 balls as the duo added 58. Ehtesham remained unbeaten on 61 in 30 balls and Siddiq hit 26.
AMI Juffali, in reply, added 102 for the opening stand by Moon Shah (44) and Nadeem 59 in 34 balls. AMI tallied 176-4. Saboor retired for 21, Rafi Gujjar hit 26 and Asif 16.
Undefeated Nestle Milo thrashed Fuchs Alhamrani by 89 runs. Nestle Milo tallied 203-7. Imran Sarwar blasted 83 in 54 balls and Abdullah Zahid 60 in 40 balls as the two added 135 in 72 balls. Fuchs Alhamrani gave away 42 extras. Khurram took 3-16 and Wasim 3-39.
Fuchs, in chase, was restricted to 114-9. Mohsin contributed 59 in 37 balls and Bilal remained unbeaten on 25. Sher Bahadur took 3-24 and Ehsan Noni 2-42.
UCC had the last laugh against Hyderabad Strikers by 6 wickets. Hyderabad Strikers posted 114-9 after early slump. Jaweed Ahmed hit 53 in 33 balls and Sarfaraz remained unbeaten on 19. Sheraz took 3-20, Amir Mughal 3-23 and Shahnawaz 2-23.
UCC reached 116-4 in 88 balls. Khubab scored 50 in 38 balls, Shahnawaz 16 and Sarfaraz an unbeaten 22. Ibrahim took 2-16.
In a close encounter, Al-Safri XI edged past NAI Juffali by 2 runs. Al-Safri was bowled out for 145. Muneeb and Saeed Ahmed compiled an identical 21 as Manjit Kumar made 28. Asad Mushtaq grabbed 3-24 and Kaifi 2-21.
NAI Juffali batted magnificently to get to 143 but Muneeb grabbed a hat trick to secure a win by 2 runs. Asad Mushtaq gave a good start with 27, followed by Salman (18) and Afzal (61 in 39 balls). Muneeb Anwar grabbed 3-24 with a hat trick. Waseeq Sherwani claimed 2-21 and Aftab Malik 2-29.
Jotun Paints prevailed over Waqas Malik XI by 5 wickets. Waqas Malik XI posted 129-7 through Shahid (44), Zahoor (18) and Tauseef (16 not out). Shafeeq Rafiq was the pick of the bowlers with 4-15. Jotun Paints reached 130-5 in 96 balls as Mohammad Shafeeq remained unbeaten on 37, Shafeeq Rafiq hit 18, Hafiz Asif 16 and Mazhar 17. Shahbaz took 2-31.
