Border Guards seized 2.4 million amphetamine pills found in a sea vessel in Tabuk on Friday. Ministry of Interior's security spokesman Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki said the guards spotted the vessel nearing the port at 3:00 a.m. Friday. The vessel suddenly steered away from the port after the sailors on it saw the guards, but eventually docked in Tabuk. The occupants of the vessel all escaped, and the guards found 15 bags containing a total of 2.4 million amphetamine pills on board. Arson suspected in car showroom fire YANBU — The Civil Defense is investigating a fire at a car showroom that they believe was intentionally lit. Madinah Civil Defense Col. Khalid Al-Jehani said the Civil Defense received a report about a fire in the executive office of a car showroom. Nobody was injured in the fire, which only burned the offices and was extinguished before it spread to the showroom. The Civil Defense reported they were still looking for the arsonist who started the fire in the first place. Two infants die in fire at desert tent QURAYYAT, AL-JOUF — Two infant girls died after their father's tent caught fire while their family was camping in the desert. Al-Jouf Civil Defense official spokesman Lt. Gen. Mueesh Al-Ruwaili said they received a report of a tent on fire 35 km into the desert. The two girls, one six months old and the other two years, were both killed in the fire. The Civil Defense suspect a kerosene leak from a stove found in the debris caused the fire. The spokesman gave his condolences to the family of the victims. 2 Asians found dead in sewage canal QATIF — Two Asian workers died on Wednesday while on duty cleaning a canal. Eastern Province Water Company spokesman Abdullah Al-Dowsary said the company received a report of two Asian workers found dead in a sewage canal. The workers had suffocated to death while cleaning the sewage canal. Witnesses at the scene refused to go in to remove the bodies out of fear for their lives. The company was notified of the incident and is currently investigating the incident to ensure that all safety procedures were followed and if health and safety regulations need to be amended. Eight-year-old boy drowns in Asir lake ABHA — A young boy drowned in a lake in Balqarn governorate. Asir Civil Defense spokesman Col. Mohammad Al-Asimi said they received a report Friday afternoon that an 8-year-old boy was playing near Al-Sadd Lake when he suddenly went missing. The Civil Defense deployed a rescue team to search for the boy and they later found his body in the lake. Asir Civil Defense Director Maj. Gen. Saleh Al-Harthy gave his condolences to the family of the victim.
