Border Guards seized over 3 million amphetamine pills in two separate incidents in Tabuk on Saturday. A Border Guard patrol team near the shores spotted suspicious-looking vehicle driving into a deserted area. The guards asked the driver to pull up but he sped through in an attempt to escape. The guards were able to stop the driver after giving him a chase. The driver and a passenger he had were arrested and 1 million amphetamine pills hidden inside the vehicle seized. The guards spotted another vehicle in a different area by the shore and inspected it to find 2 million amphetamine pills. The driver of the vehicle was arrested. Both incidents were forwarded to the pertinent authorities. Young drifter held after crashing into police car SAKAKA — Police arrested a minor for drifting and crashing into a police car in Al-Qurayyat in Al-Jouf Province. Al-Qurayyat Police said the driver of the vehicle escaped after hitting the police car while performing driving stunts. A few hours later, police found the driver, a 16-year-old boy, hiding in the restroom of a public park in the area. He was arrested and the case was forwarded to the pertinent authorities. Two arrested over 23 armed robberies MADINAH — Police arrested two young men for allegedly being involved in 23 robberies in Madinah. Spokesman for Madinah Police Col. Fahd Al-Ghannam said they received reports of multiple robberies by two men carrying a crowbar or a similar metal weapon. Police investigated the crimes and arrested a 25-year-old Saudi and his 19-year-old Arab accomplice. The two young men confessed to carrying out 23 thefts and armed robberies in the city. They admitted to have stolen cars, electronics and other valuables from showrooms, apartments and stores. Police said robbery victims may contact the police station to retrieve their belongings. Worker dies in crane collapse MAKKAH — A worker died after the crane he was operating collapsed and fell on top of him. Makkah Civil Defense reported the worker was a Yemeni who was at the construction site of a 30-story hotel. He was operating a crane that went as high as the seventh story before it broke into halves and fell on top of him. The paramedics took the body to the morgue and the police were still investigating the incident. Accident kills worker at construction site MAKKAH — A worker died after a ceiling collapsed on top of him in a construction site here Saturday morning. Makkah Civil Defense spokesman Capt. Naif Al-Sharif said the incident happened on Al-Khawajat Road. The ceiling of a room of a house under construction collapsed on top of the worker, resulting in his immediate death. The victim was pulled out from under the rubble, but he had already died. No other injuries were reported due to the accident.
