The premises of Al Falah International School-DPS, Jeddah, was tinted with rich hues of splendor and glory of Indian tradition as it celebrated the 67th Republic Day of India. Excitement was palpable as the students and the staff delightfully reminisced India's illustrious history, culture and heritage in a grand celebration. They took pride in glorifying the spirit of unity and renewed the pledge to protect the motherland. The celebration gained impetus as Zia Abdullah Nadwi, the school director unfurled the national flag and set a festive ambience to the historic occasion. His speech was a solemn reminder of great martyrs and their colossal contribution to the nation. He emphasized the need for an indomitable grit and conviction on the part of the youth towards the country's progress and in shaping India as one of the greatest nations of the world. He also exhorted the students to take a pledge to make their parents and the society proud by preserving the traditions and culture of the country. Mrs. Humaira Naseem, the academic director galvanized the gathering with her inspirational message. Mrs. Faiza, the Saudi principal conveyed her greetings to all. The staff and the students saluted the national flag and took an oath to uphold the honor, integrity and uniqueness of India. They also organized a rich cultural program in both the boys' and the girls' sections separately which showcased the diversity and richness of Indian culture. The school echoed with patriotic fervor as the children glorified India through dance performances and patriotic songs. The program commenced with a magnificent march past and a mesmerizing mass drill. In the cultural events that followed, the students astounded the audience with instrumental music, speeches, dazzling dances that depicted national integration, Saudi dance, mimicry, skits, Taekwondo performance and mellow melodies. The academic director recognized the persistent efforts of the talented team of coordinators, teachers and students on the conduct of such a memorable show. The celebration ended with the Saudi and Indian national anthems.
