DAMMAM – Al Khozama School celebrated India's 64th Republic Day with immense pride. The celebration started off with the school principal Dr.L.P. Ravi Kumar, admin manager Razi Shaikpareeth, head mistress Sajna, and supervisor Stani Thomas being escorted by the School Band Team to the podium. Kumar saluted the house captains and hoisted the Indian national flag. Welcome speeches were delivered by Siddhartha Suresh from the boys' section and Samra Shakeel from the girls' section. Other school children also delivered speeches on the importance of Republic Day and its relevance today. Various cultural programs, such as patriotic songs, skits, declamation and dances were also staged. Kumar and Sajna addressed the boys and girls in their sections respectively. Saudi principal Sana thanked the Indian community in Saudi Arabia for their valuable contribution to the country. A cultural exhibition dubbed “Sanskriti” was also part of the Republic Day celebration, which was held in the school premises. The exhibition gave children an opportunity to explore and experience cultural trends and regional diversity of Incredible India. Students displayed charts, working models, puppet shows and various art forms that reflected the true essence of India. Different topics like traditional costumes, monuments, heritage, ethnic food, literature and cultural civilization were assigned to different grades. An inter house patriotic song competition was also an integral part of the cultural fest, winners of which were awarded with prizes. The vote of thanks was delivered by Azhar Shahid of grade nine and Tanya of grade eight. Athul and Roshan were the masters of the ceremony. – SG
