With 12 teams and 72 bowlers participating, Jett Santos, Robert Stone and Fedelyn Bustinera emerged as the most celebrated individual bowlers when they clinched the master title in their respective divisions at the conclusion of another exciting Haj 2011 Mini All-event Bowling Tournament which was conducted by the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group at the Bowling City here. Playing under the banner of Don M team that placed fifth in team event, third on male trio and ninth on mix trio, Santos ranked himself second with 1,821 tpf, behind top finisher Ric Reformado in OAB Single Event. Reformado totaled 1,846 in nine games which he decorated with 255 hi-game scratch. Also qualifying to top three of mastership was Roger Daquioag who tied Jerry Mandanas at 1,778 but outlasted the latter on rule of consistency. In the three-man race Santos extricated at 227 to look down on Reformado and Daquioag who tried to contend with 192 and 190 in Game 1. Daquioag then tried to chase with his 226 in Game 2 but with 213 safeguarding, Santos sealed OAB Master title at 440 two-game series. Daquioag placed second with 416 and Reformado landed third with 412. More delighted was team head Marlon Heredia as Santos filled Don M with most coveted male title. In CD, Jowet Carreon flashed a starling finish when he forcefully pushed for a 248 on the last game. Carreon with 1,619 was actually behind Rolly Vistal (1,668) and Robert Stone (1,645) after 8 games with Paolo Allego and Fred Cuenca showing slim contention at 1,571 and 1,534. But with that magnificent thrust Carreon strongly pierced through and turned out top finisher with 1,885 relegating Vistal and Stone on second and third with 1,863 and 1,855 respectively. But Stone got the break in the Master contest when Carreon and Vistal bowled average in two games. Initially stone Stone was disadvantaged with 181, while Carreon and Vistal burdened him with 205 and 202. The ultimate game then inclined to Stone when he sparkled 218 for a surprising 399 total that made the sophomore bowler the CD Master winner. His rivals who paced steadily got deadlocked at 396 but Vistal emerged more consistent to be second ranker and Carreon embraced third place. Similarly exciting was the quest for Lady Master Bowler wherein Fedelyn Bustinera was trailing Carmen Lim at 1,408-1,405, Minda Guevara was vehemently chasing with 1,371 and keeping distance were Ester Santoc, Evelyn Santoc and Sally Sa?osa with 1,364, 1,332 and 1,321 respectively after seven games. Massive pushes of 216 and 219 in the last two games made Bustinera the top finisher with 1,840 while Lim and Guevara stayed behind with 1,787 and 1,751 to contend Fedelyn for the mastership. Still on the reminiscence of her defeat in the recent monthly contest, Bustinera focused well on her game to lead considerably in Game 1 at 230 over 207 and 194 of Lim and Guevara. Protecting her founded gap, Bustinera traded marks to survive with 190 and clinch Lady Master title on total two games of 420 which failed the rallying Guevara whose 202 totaled her of 396 to rank first runner-up. Lim, who got hobbled with splits for 162, settled second runner-up with 369.
