JEDDAH — A high game on their two-game finals awarded Roger Daquioag, Richard Antonio and Sally Sa?osa of the most coveted Masters titles in the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group (FEDBG) 2012 Haj Mini All Event Games at the Bowling City here. Daquioag with (1,826) was second to Dariel Loquias (1,874), but in front of Ruel Santoc (1,817) after the nine-game qualifying. He even sluggishly started with 157 on the Masters 2-game finals to look up at his competitors with Santoc leading with 203 and 188 for Loquias. But Daquioag calmly seared the lanes with strings of strikes to take the OAB group Masters title in 2-games scratch series of 391 after lambasting his two rivals of 234. Santoc turned out second with 386 and Loquias third with 369. Antonio, one of the most celebrated bowlers in his level, finished third with 1,863 behind top finisher Rolly Vistal (1,885) and Jun Pingan (1,876) on their 9-game elimination contested by 23 keglers. But a sparkling opener of 228 early handed Antonio the advantage as Vistal and Pingan paced with 192 and 167. Vistal tried chasing with 205 on the last stint, but Antonio defensively barred him with 174 to finally be the CD Master titlist with handicapped series of 402. Vistal's efforts made him bridesmaid with 397, while Pingan embraced third with 348. Sa?osa with 1,656 finished third behind top qualifier Fernandez (1,749) and Miralbuna (1,707). She survived fast-chasing top favorite May Lourdes (1,645) and Eva Garcia (16,05) in their 9-game elimination race. But a sparkling 193 on the first game of their Master contest gave Sa?osa an upper hand as Fernandez and Miralbuna could only contend with 183 and 172. Fernandez profusely tried to pursue with 202, but Sa?osa blocked with 183 to succeed Ladies Master with 381 series. Fernandez (374) and Miralbuna (366) finished second and third places.
