Itqan Bees, Del Moral rock lanes to bag weekly awards

RIYADH: The dynamic performances of Lulu Quejada, Ric Singson, Jun Bantug, HRH Mohamed Sultan and Arnold Jesena helped Itqan Bees romp away the Best Team of the Week Awards. Also sharing the limelight was Doy del Moral by claiming the Best Bowler of the Week honor in the 23rd Week of Almarai Saturday Bowling League at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC).
The league is solely sponsored by Almarai Company and organized by the Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR).
The triumvirate of graceful Lulu Quejada, Ric Singson and one-time perfect 300 holder Jun Bantug powered Itqan Bees to nail down Bowling Buddies, 18-5. Quejada was at her best to lead in Itqan Bees by posting a four-game series of 868. Compatriot Singson and Bantug hammered separate series of 862 and 808 to follow Quejada. HRS Mohamed Sultan and titlist Arnold Jesena rocked lanes to score 745 and 727, respectively. Itqan Bees is mentored by Ian Choco.
For the Bowling Buddies posting the best score was Dennis Serano with 804 points. Fellow Angelo Train came nextwith 676 points. Zeus dela Cruz and the comebacking Omar “kapitan Boom” Valdez scored separate series of 676 and 537 while Yusof Fernandez and Earl de Vera toppled 491 and 348 points in order.
Almarai Company through the awesome display of games of Fhel Ramos and Marlon Belista upset Royal Archers-Reloaded, 15-13. Ramos and Belista colored the lanes red to topscore in Almarai by tallying separate series of 880 and 872. Team members Cas Encila, Jun Daniel and Romy Cabrillas supported Almarai by sharing separate series of 729, 594 and 335. Almarai Company is under the helm of Emerson Mitra.
Royal Archers-Reloaded, despite losing the match to Almarai did not go home empty-handed as one of their bankable players Doy del Moral captured the Best Bowler of the Week Award. Red-hot Del Moral, a Class A player, shot a towering four-game series of 925 on lines of 246, 256, 200 and 211. Next was southpaw Nap Torres with 805 points. Fathi Abood Abdulaziz, Hani Al-Nasleh and Ric Tugonon scored separate series of 785, 732 and 566 while captain Rodel Molina downed 178 in one game.
Alinma posted a sweet-victory against heavy favorite Itqan Eagles, 17-8. Hard-hitting Jess Ambon and upcoming Jojo de Silva and one-time perfect 300 holder, Ely Fanugao led in Alinma by tallying 865, 812 and 741 points. Bernie Torres and Jerry Barce pocketed 640 and 605 while the duo of Roberto Mata and Robert Ting added 166 and 154 in one game, respectively.
Ruel Toledo sizzled to lead in Itqan Eagles by posting 802 points and he was followed by Boy Mirando (779), Jonathan Tabago (770), Manny Lebrilla (752) and Arneli Garlan (731).
Alsalam Strike Force defeated FBGR Selection through the combined team effort of Benjie Valderama (863), Rollie Cleofe (810), Mario Rivera (791) and Jess Vidal (748).
Sweet-shooting Thong Asuncion topscored in FBGR Selection by posting a series of 860 in four games while Beth Danganan and Zaldy Torres collected 799 and 767 pointes. Jerry Austria and Jett Cabana registered 748 and 735 series.
