The Riyadh security forces have recovered a trailer transporting four luxury cars, which was stolen under threat of force, and have arrested the perpetrators. A spokesman for the Riyadh Police said that the driver of the truck reported that he was stopped by two men at 11 am on Friday when he was heading towards the car showrooms east of Riyadh. They threatened him with a sharp tool, forced him to get down, and seized the trailer. Details of the trailer were passed around to highway patrolmen who stood vigilant at various points and intensified their search for the stolen vehicle. Investigations soon led the patrolmen to the hijackers' hideout in a resort, west of Riyadh. The truck and the cars were found, and two Saudis and an Ethiopian, all in their 30s, were arrested after some resistance. They have been handed over to the competent police authority, and the branch of the General Investigation and Prosecution in the region has been notified to complete the necessary procedures for their prosecution. Meanwhile, security patrols have arrested a young man who pulled a gun at security men, when he was in an inebriated state, and tried to run over them and smash their patrol car. The spokesman for the Riyadh Police, Fawaz Al-Mayman, said during routine patrolling, the police noticed the man in his vehicle behaving in an abnormal manner on Friday morning. When they tried to stop him and check his identification papers, he ran berserk before he was restrained. The 35-year old Saudi was found to be driving a stolen vehicle.
