Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu expressed today great concern about the deteriorating humanitarian situation of the Syrian people at home and the situation of refugees in the neighboring countries. According to a statement issued here this morning by the Organization, the Secretary-General asked the OIC's Humanitarian Department to set up an urgent humanitarian program to face the deteriorating conditions. He also urged member states and financial and charitable institutions and people to provide assistance of all kinds for the relief of the Syrian people who are facing a severe humanitarian crisis.
