The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, appealed urgently to all OIC member states and humanitarian institutions to provide urgent support for the Pakistani people affected by the recurrent floods. In a statement issued today, the OIC General Secretariat said that it has followed with deep concern the recurrent flooding for the second year in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and in particular in Sindh province, as well as the large damage caused which led to the displacement of a large number of people who became in desperate need of urgent humanitarian aid to deal with such extraordinary circumstances.
