Turkish President Opens Islamic Economic Cooperation Conference

AlQa'dah 21, 1432, Oct 19, 2011, SPA -- President Abdullah Gul of Turkey opened here today the 27th session of the ministerial conference for the standing committee of trade and economic cooperation, an affiliate of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (ICO), in Istanbul, in the presence of Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary-General of ICO.
Addressing the conference, Ihsanoglu pointed out that trade exchange amounted to $539 billion in 2010, an increase of 17.03%. He added that the rhythm of trace among member states of ICO is on the increase despite the international economic recess.
